Job description

Kitchen Manager | Leon’s Bagels

$75K–$90K | NYC

The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager to help lead our BOH teams across multiple Leon’s locations.

You’ll be just as comfortable jumping into a busy service as you are managing the systems behind it -ordering, inventory, COGS, labor scheduling, training, and making sure our kitchens are set up to succeed every day.

We’re growing, so we’re looking for someone who can bring structure and consistency while still being a supportive, respected leader to the team.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee BOH operations across multiple locations
  • Work closely with and support our kitchen leads
  • Be present during peak service (9am–1pm) and jump in when needed
  • Own ordering, inventory, receiving, and vendor organization
  • Manage BOH labor scheduling and help keep labor within budget
  • Monitor COGS, food costs, waste, and inventory
  • Maintain food quality and consistency across all locations
  • Train, coach, and develop BOH teams
  • Keep kitchens organized, clean, and DOH-ready
  • Use Google Workspace and our operational tools to stay organized and communicate across locations
  • Catch recurring issues, understand why they’re happening, and put systems in place to prevent them
  • Help us build better BOH systems as Leon’s continues to grow

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of BOH leadership experience, ideally in a high-volume environment
  • Multi-unit management experience strongly preferred
  • Fluent Spanish
  • Comfortable with technology and proficient in Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets
  • Strong understanding of ordering, inventory, COGS, and labor scheduling
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and strong with follow-through
  • Comfortable working with numbers and managing toward labor and COGS targets
  • Calm and solutions-focused during busy service
  • A strong people leader who can set expectations, hold people accountable, and still build a team that enjoys working together
  • Someone who takes real pride in running a tight, well-organized kitchen
  • Excited about Leon’s and helping us grow

Growth

We’re expanding, and we want someone who can grow with us. The right person will have the opportunity to take on a larger leadership role as we open more locations.
