Description
Summary:
The Production Technician is responsible for supporting the product manufacturing operations within the facility including Product assembly, packaging, inventory, and warehousing. The Production Technician will report to the Production Manager and is expected to work at an efficient pace, taking care to abide by always established quality standards. The Production Technician will maintain a safe and clean work environment by following current good handling practices, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and complying with rules and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to perform in accordance with or above Performance goals.
  • Select and prepare cannabis flower for production, ensuring accuracy in strain selection and weight according to established guidelines.
  • Utilize automated equipment and manual techniques to produce pre-rolls and other manufactured products that meet company specifications for quality and consistency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of Productions for shape, size, and packaging quality, ensuring adherence to both aesthetic and functional standards.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on production machines and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and hygiene.
  • Adhere to Ohio cannabis laws and regulations, maintaining compliance in all aspects of production and packaging.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, reporting shortages or discrepancies to the management team.
  • Work closely with production, quality assurance, and packaging teams to meet daily production targets and improve processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of production batches, including strain details, weights, and any quality control issues encountered.
  • Immediately report any issues or deviations from quality standards to the appropriate departmental manager
  • Wear required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to prevent contamination and always abide by personal hygiene and safety standards
  • Work in a timely manner, moving at an efficient pace, and always striving to increase productivity
  • Responsible for the cleaning of the work area and following the appropriate departmental cleaning procedures
  • Follow all Ohio DCC safety, legal, quality, process control policies and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Relevant Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • High school diploma
  • 1-3 years of experience in a regulated production environment preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to work efficiently with a positive attitude and team first focus
  • Basic plant knowledge and cannabis operations preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately
  • Must comply with state regulations and guidelines
  • Ability to pass a background check required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Physical Requirements:
  • Long periods of prolonged standing and sitting
  • Ability to observe and assess material that deviates from established company standards
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to perform manual labor tasks
  • Must be capable of performing repetitive tasks for an extended period of time
  • Some crouching or holding uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time
  • Requires bending and lifting up to 50 pounds

Work Environment:
  • Similar to a busy manufacturing facility or warehouse
  • Occasional exposure to loud trim machines (ear protection provided) and extremely bright lights (eye protection provided)
  • Constant interaction with internal and external stakeholders
