Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
We are looking for an experienced leader to fill our Production Manager role! You will be key in the oversight of our production processes to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality output. To be most successful you will be innovative, action-oriented, a natural problem solver with a high level of commitment to your team. You will strive to continuously improve our processes and products to meet the PECO standard!
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop production team supervisors and members, fostering a collaborative and motivated work force.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost. Prepare regular reports for upper management on production performance and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets are met.
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Ensure quality standards are followed and upheld, minimizing defects and waste.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality. Utilize methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and other best practices.
  • Develops annual operating budgets for assigned departments.
  • Investigates and resolves employee performance issues in a timely manner, counseling employees and implementing formal discipline as required by the Company's collective bargaining agreement.
  • Ensures compliance of company's policies and procedures are being met.
  • Ensures that the production environment complies with health and safety regulations. Promote a culture of safety and ensure all employees are trained in safety protocols.
  • Ocassional travel may be required to meet customers, visit sites, and supplier facilities
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering preferred.
  • Five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience managing unionized workforces preferred.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and employees.
  • Strong familiarity with automated MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Technical knowledge of Assembly, CNC Machining, and Die Casting processes desired.
