JOB SUMMARY
Designs, markets, and supports value added service programs primarily to healthcare menu planning services, database management and system development and operation for Sysco Corporation for use by national accounts, Sysco companies and their customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads team in development of national healthcare menus according to federal and state regulations and guidelines
  • Manages implementation of national skilled and upscale menus twice per year
  • Evaluates healthcare related regulatory changes, industry trends, and professional recommendations for appropriate incorporation into menu development
  • Oversees expansion of recipe, ingredient, and nutrition healthcare database
  • Interprets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Online Nutrition Care Manual for incorporation into therapeutic diet menu planning
  • Maintains order guides using online tools for menu cost generation
  • Participates in healthcare system testing and implementation
  • Gathers menu related insights and trends to incorporate into menu development
  • Integrates all product information for menu development and release
  • Develops and tests recipes
  • Mentors dietetic student interns on rotation completion
  • Originates appropriate documentation for menu release and provides to operating companies and healthcare team members
  • Presents educational materials for menu related training
  • Evaluates healthcare and nutrition related product development for market appropriateness
  • Leads special projects involving the healthcare team related to database management

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university. Position requires a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
  • Four years of experience in food service setting. Knowledge/experience with food production systems, product specifications, recipe development, long-term care menu planning and clinical dietetics necessary.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Two years healthcare menu writing experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILL
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to use computer for word processing and spreadsheets, experience with MS Office products.
