DEFINITION
The Director of Franchise Sales plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our brand through strategic franchise development initiatives. He or she will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing new franchise partners who share our vision and values. This role requires a combination of sales expertise, relationship building, and market analysis to drive successful franchise recruitment efforts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Work with existing franchisees to assist them in additional development opportunities; coordinate existing franchise growth request with the Expansion Review Committee
  • Drive brand expansion by securing new franchisees and cultivating strategic partnerships
  • Answer questions, set up and participate in teleconferences, work with prospective and current franchisees, and pertinent Support Center team members in efforts to close the sales
  • Follow up with candidates and assist in moving them along in the decision-making process
  • Oversee the franchise documentation process for turnover to administration
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with franchisees that are mutually beneficial to both the Support Center and franchisees, which ultimately will drive commitment and measurable results
  • Serve as primary contact for new multi-unit operators and existing franchisees; work through the sales process to turn leads into candidates and candidates into franchisees
  • Endeavor to meet or exceed sales objectives as outlined in the company's strategic plan
  • Communicate FDD requirements with candidate, direct them to key information found in document, while complying with FTC regulations
  • Review all franchise applications, personal net worth financial statements, credit worthiness and background history to ensure candidate meets or exceeds minimum requirements
  • Emphasize throughout the process that the foundation of ZFL is our Culture, Mission and Core Values
  • Develop a perspective, during the courting process, on a candidate's viability within ZFL's culture and communicates concerns so an informed decision can be made
  • Anticipate potential conflict between new and existing franchisees as related to growth and communicate the situation as needed to the executive team
  • Report progress on candidate status as well as "pipeline" development status to the executive team

KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Expert knowledge of the sales process cycle in restaurant industry
  • Expert negotiator with ability to close deals
  • Strong understanding of the Franchise Disclosure Document
  • Working knowledge on the competitive position of the Company system to other restaurant concepts
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and the ability to interpret credit evaluations and demographics
  • Ability to confidently make decisions, demonstrating good judgment
  • Innate situational awareness and the ability to read people
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization and all types of people
  • Ability to foster meaningful business relationships both internally and externally
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills; must be able to handle multiple deals at one time
  • Previous leadership experience
  • CRM knowledge

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: 7+ years in franchise development within QSR or restaurant industry

SALARY RANGE: $155,000 - $180,000
