The Director of Franchise Operations at GNC is a key leadership role responsible for the growth, development, and operational excellence of franchise partners within their respective markets. This role involves close collaboration with franchisees to maximize their success and profitability, ensure adherence to GNC's operating system and standards, and maintain a consistent, high-quality customer experience across the franchise network. The Director also plays a critical role in driving both retail and wholesale revenues and is responsible for mentoring franchisees in all aspects of training and operations.
What You'll Do:
This is a Full-Time Salary Position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Franchisee Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and manage day-to-day relationships with multiple franchise partners.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between franchisees and various GNC support departments (e.g., Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, Real Estate, Legal, Science, Product Development).
  • Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with franchisees, providing guidance, coaching, and support to enhance their success in maximizing their profitability.

Operational Excellence and Performance:
  • Provide general business and operational guidance to franchisees, leading through influence to drive GNC Corporate goals and KPIs.
  • Coach franchisees to maximize their return on investment and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with the GNC operating system, franchise documents, program requirements, and brand standards.
  • Oversee the completion of Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III training programs for new franchisees.
  • Establish visitation cycles and conduct store evaluations to ensure consistent execution and performance to deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • Implement dispute resolution methods to address differences and maintain positive relationships with franchisees.

New Store Support and Development:
  • Facilitate and assist with quality start-up and opening assistance for new stores, including training of new Franchise Operators.
  • Manage transfers, remodels, relocations, and conversions for franchise locations.

Market Analysis and Expansion:
  • Actively monitor the geographical market for potential, well-capitalized franchisees interested in ownership.

Revenue Generation:
  • Responsible for achieving Retail and Wholesale revenue targets set by GNC.

Team Leadership and Development:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to franchise partners.

Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in franchise operations or multi-unit management to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job.

Skills:
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of unit economics and profitability.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer programs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

  • Ability to travel as required - at times travel can be significant - to support franchise locations.
  • Current driver's license.

  • Occasionally lift and or move up to 40 pounds
