We have a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to join our Records and Disclosure team as a Forms and Records Analyst who understands the importance of designing forms for internal and external customers to expand our services at DOL!

Our Records and Disclosure Unit (RAD) supports DOL's goal of safer data by balancing the public's right to access government records and the expectation of privacy for the people we serve. We are one of the most public facing state agencies and the second largest revenue generating agency in Washington State. We regularly interact with over 6 million Washington residents and collect nearly $3 billion in taxes and fees annually. Duties

As a Forms and Records Analyst, you will play a key role in helping the agency communicate clearly and consistently with customers. Your work will ensure forms and form-based communications support equitable access to services, meet state and federal requirements, and reflect agency standards. Through collaboration, analysis, and sound judgment, you will help improve the customer experience, reduce organizational risk, and support the agency's modernization efforts.

Some of what you will do:

  • Review and maintain agency forms to ensure they meet accessibility, plain language, branding, and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate the development, approval, publication, and ongoing maintenance of agency forms and related communications.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to staff on forms management, accessibility, and compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain forms standards, guidance, documentation, and reference materials.
  • Identify opportunities to improve forms, business processes, and customer communications.
  • Oversee translation services and multilingual forms to support equitable access to agency services.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to deliver consistent, accurate, and customer-focused forms and communications.
Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

  • Six (6) years of relevant experience in concepts of form design and form requirements to include technical writing or professional document creation.
  • Experience must include:
    • Three (3) years of the following:
      • Using computer applications to create, compose, and edit written and illustrated materials, correspondence, reports, and spreadsheets.
      • Creating, composing, formatting, proofreading, and editing professional documents or forms applying plain language principles and clear communication guidelines.
    • Two (2) years of the following:
      • Applying accessibility best practices for communication, content, or form development, such as clear labeling, keyboard navigation, color contrast, error messages, and screen reader compatibility.
      • Working with front end web coding languages to include JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and HTML.
    • One (1) year of experience utilizing the Form Design developer option within Microsoft Word.
  • The ability to:

Experience may be gained concurrently. Up to four (4) years of relevant education may substitute year for year for experience. Associate's degree = 2 years | Bachelor's degree = 4 years

What may help set you apart:

  • Three (3) years of experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite to include InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Two (2) years of experience using a web-based form creator such as FormSite or Cognito.
  • Six (6) months of experience in Web Content Management Software such as WordPress.
  • Six (6) months of experience facilitating in different settings while creating an inclusive and productive environment.
