Job description

We are seeking a Food Service Director to join our team! You will be responsible for providing customers with a memorable dining experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning departmental policy and procedure making, menu and production planning, equipment arrangement, establishment of standards to be maintained in the Dietary Department following the rules and laws of Diet Therapy, sanitation and safety Procedures.
  • Develops recipes and nutritional analysis.
  • Dividing tasks into positions, personnel selection to meet the table of organizational chart; welding together of an effective staff without overlapping or duplicating responsibilities.
  • The Therapeutic Dietician gives the number of residents to be served in order to determine the quantities of food needed to purchase.
  • This figure will help to determine budget making and predicting future needs for staff and departmental based on trends of changes.
  • Delegating assignment of responsibilities and authority to each staff member through schedule and job description.
  • The Food Service Director will be responsible to insure that all employees of the Dietary Department will have on-going in-service education program using the Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • The Food Service Director is responsible in recording food and non-food supply costs, labor costs, meals served per day to determine the food cost per resident per day.
  • Develops and implements work standards, sanitation procedures and personal hygiene requirements consistent with the facility.
  • Responsible for records and reports concerning technical and administrative operations, such as number of meals served, menus, food costs, supplies issued, repairs of dietary equipment, maintenance service and costs, personnel attendance records, and continuous inventory of supply on hand.
  • Prepares and submits monthly report to Administrator.
  • The Food Service Director will be responsible for the on-going on the job training of all the dietary employees.
  • Orientation program will be given to all new employees to acquaint them with work assignments, schedules, required performance standards and the Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • The Food Service Director will do all the ordering of foods and equipment.
  • The Food Service Director will be responsible for keeping a current physical inventory of all food and non-food items of the Dietary Department.
  • Plans and attends meetings with other departments, plans and attends meetings of the Dietary Department.

โ€‹Qualifications:

1. Registered Dietitian (must have license)

2. At least 2 years experience working in a nursing facility.

3. At least 2 years experience working as a dietitian.

4. Knowledge in Geri Menu and SigmaCare.

5. Previous experience in food service or other related fields

6. Strong leadership qualities

7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

8. Excellent written and communication skills
