Quality Assurance Assistant: Freeport, Illinois
Our customer in Freeport, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We're recruiting Quality Assurance Assistants to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Quality Assurance Assistant, you will be responsible for receiving and verifying incoming materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting quality audits, and assisting with laboratory testing procedures.
Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Assistant:
  • Receive and verify unloaded incoming materials/product quantities as shown on packing slips against actual items received and original purchase orders.
  • Inspect items according to instructions and report damaged goods to the Receiving/Banbury Supervisor; arrange for any necessary returns.
  • Enter receipt of goods into computerized inventory records, including item numbers, quantities, prices, and other required information.
  • Use a dolly or manually transport small items to the proper document or storage location within the warehouse.
  • Perform daily spot checks of inventory.
  • Reconcile computer records with physical inventory according to established schedules.
  • Report receiving issues to the Receiving Supervisor and RSP Manager via email.
  • Support Quality Technicians and Lab Technicians with audits and testing as needed.
  • Process audits in Receiving/Stock Prep departments as needed.
  • Provide lab relief for the Lab Technician as needed.
  • Process Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as received.
  • Complete QA shift reports and communicate quality concerns to the Quality Manager, Plant Manager, Quality Team, and Supervisors via email.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Quality Assurance Assistant: Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Associate degree preferred and/or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position.
  • Two (2) years of prior experience related to receiving and quality in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to accurately maintain records.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standard.
Pay for Quality Assurance Assistant: Starting at $17-$18/hour. After hire receive a pay increase to $20/hour.
