Fleet Operations Manager

Location: Carlsbad, NM (On-site)

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)

About the Role

We are seeking a Fleet Operations Manager to oversee and support a large-scale vehicle fleet (500+ units) for a key client. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in fleet management, logistics, and vendor coordination who thrives in a hands-on, operational environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring fleet efficiency, maintaining compliance, and delivering high-quality service to both internal stakeholders and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily fleet operations, including maintenance, compliance, and safety standards
  • Manage the full vehicle lifecycle (acquisition, maintenance, inspections, and disposal)
  • Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely repairs and service delivery
  • Monitor and optimize fleet costs and operational efficiency
  • Implement and track preventive maintenance programs
  • Maintain accurate inventory and reporting on fleet performance
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements
  • Identify process improvements and drive operational efficiency initiatives

  • 5+ years of fleet management experience (maintenance, logistics, operations)
