PURPOSE OF POSITION:The Fleet Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance, performance, and lifecycle management of Deer Valley's fleet of vehicles and equipment. This role ensures the fleetoperatessafely and efficiently to support resort operations while leading the Fleet Maintenance team and managing budgets, inventory, and vendor partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fleet Operations & Maintenance

  • Implement andmaintainpreventative maintenance programs that meet or exceed OEM specifications to maximize operational efficiency and minimize downtime

  • Oversee daily shop operations, prioritizing work through theAdmin Assistantand Shop Lead Technicians

  • Maintain awareness of daily and seasonal vehicle needs across departments and assign fleet resources accordingly

  • Monitor fleet condition and plan for vehicle replacement, turnover, and disposal of resort assets

  • Ensure shop tooling and equipment are adequate, maintained, and secure

Fleet Lifecycle, Budget & Inventory Management

  • Forecast and manage annual operating and capital budgets based on fleet needs and operational trends

  • Monitor maintenance costs and fleet performance to maximize cost efficiency

  • Procure new fleet vehicles and equipment

  • Oversee parts inventory management, including regular inventory counts and control procedures

  • Develop andmaintainstrong relationships with parts and service vendors to ensure reliable support and priority service

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Fleet Maintenance team, including supervision of shop staff and leadership support roles

  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, training, and performance management activities

  • Conduct technician quality control inspections and support ongoing technical development

  • Promote employee engagement and partner with theSeniorFleet Maintenance Manager on performance reviews and team development

Safety, Compliance & Cross-Department Coordination

  • Develop andmaintaindepartmental safety and risk management policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards

  • Resolve accident or damage cases involving fleet vehicles, including incidents involving guests or employees

  • Coordinate with resort departments to support operational needs and communicate impacts of maintenance activities

  • Support fleet-related training for employees across departments when needed

  • Communicate equipment or personnel issues to leadership and Human Resources as appropriate

  • Support sustainability initiatives within the department and across the resort

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience in fleet maintenance, heavy equipment maintenance, or a related field

  • Strong working knowledge of gas, diesel, tracked, and wheeled vehicles, preferably within a resort or similar operational environment

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills with electrical, mechanical, and powertrain systems

  • Experience leading or supervising maintenance teams and coordinating shop operations

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize work based on operational needs

  • Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA, MSDS, and Lockout/Tagout procedures

  • Proficiencywith computer systems and maintenance record-keeping

  • Valid driver's license and ability tooperatesnowmobiles, snowcats, heavy equipment, and other fleet vehicles; ability to obtain DOT/CDL endorsements ifrequired

  • Knowledge of DOT recordkeeping and driver training is preferred

  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings as needed
