Job description

Vestmark's Outsourced Services (VOS) team is seeking a Fixed Income Operations Analyst with strong experience in fixed income products, trade workflows, and settlement processes to support our Outsourced Service Clients in Wakefield, MA. In this hands-on, client-facing role, you will oversee the operational management of fixed income accounts, ensuring accurate reconciliation, timely settlement, proper corporate action processing, and high-quality data integrity across all fixed income securities. The role requires daily processing, issue investigation, and proactive communication with brokers, custodians, portfolio managers, and internal operations and technology teams to maintain accurate fixed income workflows, strong operational controls, and high-quality client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the team's processes, sponsor relationships, workflows, and systems used to support managed accounts.
  • Perform account-level reconciliations, including cash, positions, transactions, and tax lots, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and manage settlement cycles and escalating issues when necessary to avoid fails.
  • Perform fail management, including tracking unsettled trades, researching causes, and mitigating potential penalties or buy-in risks.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal teams (trading, reconciliation, COAC) as well as external counterparties (brokers, custodians, managers) to resolve settlement and operational issues.
  • Oversee corporate actions related to fixed income securities such as calls, redemptions, interest payments, and other mandatory and voluntary events.
  • Participate in special projects, including platform enhancements, workflow improvements, and system upgrades.
  • Support new client onboarding and new fixed income manager onboarding, ensuring accurate setup and seamless integration into operational workflows.

ย Required Experience and Skills:

  • 2-4 years of experience in managed accounts, investment operations, or a similar financial services role.
  • Deep product knowledge across all major fixed income security types (e.g., Treasuries, corporates, municipals, agencies, MBS/ABS, money markets).
  • Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, from execution and allocation through confirmation, settlement, and post-trade reporting.
  • Knowledge of settlement market infrastructure, including custodians, clearing houses, depositories
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with executing brokers, portfolio managers, custodians, and internal stakeholders to resolve trade discrepancies and settlement issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being able to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Familiarity with Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), including account structures, workflows, and operational requirements.
  • Advanced desktop skills, particularly Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas; VBA a plus).
  • Experience with the Vestmark platform is a strong plus.
