Community reinvestment refers to the efforts made by financial institutions to help meet the credit needs of all segments of their local communities, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. In the United States, this is guided by the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), which encourages banks to lend, invest, and provide services in underserved areas. Excellent relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving skills help you work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders. These competencies ensure successful outreach, regulatory compliance, and positive community impact for financial institutions.
