Job description

Purpose of Role

Marex is seeking a Fixed Income Operations Analyst who will support the Credit, Rates, MBS, Repo, Fixed Income Prime Brokerage and Customer Clearing businesses. Support is primarily on Broadridge and Pershing platforms.

The Operations Team is seeking to add an impactful individual with experience across the Fixed Space as well as the aptitude and attitude to continue to learn. The candidate will be asked to take on leadership responsibilities within the team in addition to their daily work. This will include supervision/approval of daily team tasks, oversight of more junior team members and ownership and/or involvement in overall process improvement. The individual will need to build relationships with internal and external clients, as a subject matter expert and learn the companies' businesses and keeps up to date with industry developments.

Both teams rely heavily on crossโ€‘training; the operations team ensures a minimum of two to three staff can perform any single function.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Front Office to ensure accurate processing of all credit and rates trading activity.
  • Monitor and resolve customer unaffirmed trades, streetโ€‘side breaks, and failed trades.
  • Understand and oversee team processes and identify areas for increased efficiency.
  • Track, resolve and UAT test issues or new projects across internal systems and vendor systems.
  • Assume responsibility for handling transactions, process or analyse In their area of expertise, and can resolve or recommend resolution to issues.
  • Research and resolve position breaks and allocation discrepancies.
  • Monitor Bank Cash Screens (BNY Fedwire) and GSCC/FICC Clearing for US Treasuries.
  • Support all aspects of Fixed Income Prime Brokerage activities โ€“ customer cash projections, settlements, trade processing, and setup.
  • Work with onboarding and trading on setting up and managing customer setups across various platforms.
  • Review and execute daily controls across credit and rates vendor systems.
  • Process and track credit corporate bonds conversion requests.
  • Work closely with customers and Pershing to support corporate credit trading to resolve settlement and corporate action related breaks.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

Skills and Experience
  • At least 1-3 (one to three) years' fixed Income experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
  • Broadridge Impact & Pershing NetX360 experience required.
  • Understanding of trade life cycle events strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting both Fixed Income trading of corporate bonds and US treasuries.
  • Understanding of and experience with Fixed Income Prime Brokerage.
  • Experience with Fedwire, DTCC clearing, and international settlements.
  • FINRA Series 99 or willingness to acquire preferred.
  • Working knowledge of one or all of the following systems: Pershing NetX360, Broadridge (Impact, FinPro, BPS), Bloomberg TOMS, FINRA TRACE.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.

Salary Range: $70,000 to $90,000 per year plus discretionary bonus
