Job description

The Director, Financial Systems leads the enterprise vision, strategy, and execution for LCS financial applications, including Oracle E-Business Suite, Yardi, and several others. This role is accountable for defining the technology roadmap, governance framework, and business alignment for financial systems, ensuring platforms effectively support core financial operations, reporting, compliance, and decision-making. As a key liaison between Finance, Operations, and IT, the Director partners with business leaders to maximize the value of financial systems, improve process efficiency, strengthen data integrity, and enable scalable, standardized processes across the organization.

This position reports directly to the VP, Business Applications

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Leadership 
    • Define and lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for financial systems, aligning platform capabilities with enterprise wide financial and operational priorities. 
    • Serve as the primary liaison between Finance, Operations, and IT, translating business needs into scalable technology solutions. 
    • Partner with executive leadership to ensure that systems support financial reporting, forecasting, compliance, and decision-making. 
    • Identify and evaluate opportunities to modernize and enhance financial platforms and supporting processes. 
  • Financial Systems Platform Oversight 
    • Oversee the design, configuration, integration, and ongoing support of financial applications to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance. 
    • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of financial and transactional data across all systems. 
    • Establish and enforce governance, standards, and policies for financial systems and data management. 
    • Drive standardization of financial processes across business lines, reducing complexity and improving consistency. 
    • Oversee and optimize system integrations across the financial systems ecosystem to ensure efficiency, stability, and scalability. 
  • Project & Change Management 
    • Manage a portfolio of financial systems initiatives, including enhancements, integrations, and production support activities. 
    • Provide leadership and oversight for production support, ensuring timely issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of system stability. 
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives from requirements through implementation, ensuring alignment with business priorities. 
    • Apply structured change management practices to ensure successful adoption and minimal disruption to financial operations. 
    • Drive continuous improvement within the delivery lifecycle, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Data Governance & Insights 
    • Define and enforce data governance standards to ensure high-quality, reliable financial data. 
    • Partner with Finance to deliver reporting, analytics, and insights that support operational visibility, forecasting, and decision-making. 
    • Utilize system data and trends to proactively identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Vendor & Operational Excellence 
    • Oversee relationships with vendors, consultants, and managed service providers supporting financial systems. 
    • Drive operational excellence by improving service delivery, reducing manual processes, and optimizing financial workflows. 
  • Team Management 
    • Manage team capacity, workload, and resource allocation to align with strategic and operational demands. 
    • Responsible for the effective management and leadership of a team. This includes, but is not limited to: hiring, training, coaching, evaluating and managing performance, allocating compensation, effectively handling employee relations issues, managing terminations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed. 

What We're Looking For:

  • Required qualifications: 
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience with 5+ years focused on ERP platforms and a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
    • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
    • Strong knowledge of financial operations and data management
    • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable business value
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Demonstrated skills in translating business needs into technical requirements and design
    • Experience with Jira or other work management platforms
    • Ability to analyze multiple solutions and weigh costs and benefits to choose an appropriate course of action
  • Preferred qualifications
    • Experience in the senior living, healthcare, or real estate industry
