Job description

Director, Financial Systems

Full-time / 40 hours per week / Hybrid Schedule

Location: 1077 Gorge Blvd, Akron, OH 44310

Summary:

Responsible for managing Finance ERP technology and tools and works directly with the Finance Leadership team to design the future architecture and drive the Finance Technology modernization roadmap. Translates Finance Leadership’s vision for a future into a world-class technology end-state architecture within Workday.

The role involves collaborating with key stakeholders across Finance, IT and the broader business to understand needs, identify improvement opportunities to develop and execute on the roadmap to accelerate our path to building a world-class finance function.

Drives the process to identify Summa Health's financial requirements, coordinates process decisions, and go-live sign-off for the Workday Financials implementation.

Serves as the central bridge between corporate finance, IT, and external system integrators to translate business requirements into a scalable Workday architecture. The director will lead financial data migration, business process configurations, and change management to ensure a successful go-live.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal Education Required:

a. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business related field

2. Experience and Training Required:

a. Ten (10) years of progressive finance leadership in a healthcare or complex multi-entity organization with experience in accounting, close processes and financial reporting

b. Three (3) years of hands-on experience designing or administering Workday Financial Management preferred

c. Familiarity with Workday Financials concepts (FDM, accounting rules, business process frameworks) preferred

d. Healthcare finance background: grants management, fund accounting, or cost reporting familiarity preferred

e. Experience with Strata or other financial planning tools preferred

3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

a. Proven ability to align ERP system architecture with Finance strategic business priorities

b. Strong executive presence; comfortable making and defending design decisions in cross-functional sessions

c. Ability to coordinate a team of SMEs while remaining accountable for workstream-level decisions

d. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

4. Level of Physical Demands:

a. Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
