Job description

Position Summary

As a Financial Systems Manager you will share responsibility for maintaining, developing and enhancing financial systems within the STERIS Corporate Finance group.In this position, you will play a significant role in global projects related to the Oracle implementation of current and future acquisitions, ensuring the appropriate implementation of financial systems that enable the automated consolidation of subsidiaries and affiliates while supporting a smooth global transition.

This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite at our Mentor, OH Corporate HQ, 3 days per week.

What You'll do as a Financial Systems Manager

Tier 2 ERP application support

  • Work with the US IT team and closely with the US Service Desk to provide financial system support of Oracle applications.
  • Support Oracle applications across all finance processes, worldwide for legacy STERIS locations as well as converted Synergy locations.
  • Assist with the research, development and implementation of changes to Oracle configurations impacting accounting to ensure appropriate legal entity reporting, translations, and eliminations in consolidation.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve process flows related to the accounting and analysis procedures performed; including the utilization of emerging technologies.

Change Management

  • Provide change management leadership for all financial processes within Oracle, working closely with local and regional finance teams and Corporate finance, ensuring best practice is shared across all regions.
  • Evaluation, testing, and implementation of ERP design change requests, liaison with BPO's.
  • Manage and maintain all centrally controlled global financial data configurations for Oracle and work closely with Oracle BPOs for any necessary system changes.
  • Implement enhancements and changes related to financial systems and processes in the form of projects (local and global) or maintenance. Consult and interact with other STERIS personnel at all levels and in all countries on the detailed testing and review of such changes.

ERP development

  • Serve as a key project contributor in implementing Oracle for newly acquired STERIS companies, covering initial scoping, business process analysis, end-to-end testing, financial validations, and training, with particular emphasis on inventory and costing for manufacturing implementations.
  • Running and participating in workshops with stakeholders in order to maximize value from the new ERP systems and ensure harmonized processes.
  • Responsibility for the design and development of financial documents and reports.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of Oracle R12 enhancements and capabilities in order to leverage new functionalities throughout all STERIS responsibilities.

System Security & Audit

  • Manage Oracle financial system access approvals and conduct user access audits.
  • Install and manage a security change control process for the financial solution.
  • Work with the Manager, Internal Controls, and Internal Audit to ensure appropriate control environment.

Testing and training

  • Create and improve finance training materials that promote best practice.
  • Support testing and release processes for Oracle changes, with a focus on accounting validation.
  • Work alongside project teams on new Oracle deployments to ensure financial processes are robust and aligned with STERIS standards.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, minimum of 13 years experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience with degree.
  • Extensive experience supporting and managing financial systems in a global, multi-ledger environment, with preferred experience in intercompany accounting processes and configuration.
  • Strong hands-on Oracle E-Business Suite R12 experience, particularly across core finance and inventory modules.
  • Proven experience leading or supporting the financial aspects of ERP implementations, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, compliance, and audit requirements, including support for SOX or other internal control frameworks
  • Track record of driving process improvements, system standardization, issue resolution, training delivery, and production of supporting materials
  • Strong analytical, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to solve problems and support strategic and operational priorities.
  • Able to work proactively and plan, organize and manage own workload.
  • Ability to coach and mentor staff.

  • CPA Preferred
  • Oracle E-Business Suite R12 experience preferred.
  • Basic SQL experience for data extraction, validation, and analysis preferred.

Pay range for this opportunity is$92,650.00 - $110,000.00.This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
