JOB OPENING FOR:

Deputy Clerk

IN THE

Washington County Clerk/ Auditor's Office

FULL TIME / WITH BENEFITS

$21.26 per hour

Washington County is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and service-minded Deputy Clerk I to join the Office of the County Clerk/Auditor. This position supports important County services including elections, voter registration, taxation and abatements, marriage licensing, passports, records management, and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to the public.
  • Process applications, forms, filings, fees, payments, and other transactions accurately.
  • Assist with election preparation and operations and voter registration.
  • Support marriage licensing, passports, taxation and abatements, and other Clerk/Auditor
    functions.
  • Maintain, scan, file, archive, and retrieve confidential records.
  • Use office software, databases, and specialized County systems.
  • Follow applicable laws, policies, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records and handle confidential information appropriately.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and 
  • One (1) year of general office, clerical, or customer service experience;
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
