Job description

What to Expect in the Role:

  • Farm supervisors are responsible for the general maintenance and management of the farm. Their work is mainly supervisory, and they plan and organize the activities on the farm. 
  • Farm supervisors should also be able to do practical work on the farm so that they can give guidance and advice to the farm workers. The practical work on the farm varies according to the type of farming. 
  • On a crop farm the farm supervisors/managers must supervise the fertilization program and the preparation of the farmlands before the crops can be planted. They must see to it that the desired quantities of fertilizer and weed killer are administered. After the cropping, the products are processed, sorted, and packed. It is the responsibility of the farm supervisor to ensure that these tasks are performed correctly. 
  • Vehicles, such as tractors and other farming implements, must be maintained and farm foremen ensure that the farm workers know how to use them correctly. 
  • Assign employees to the proper field while ensuring height, adjustment of mowers, and moisture are maintained.
  • Operation of watering systems

  • Bilingual English/ Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Leadership and the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships are important.
  • Farm supervisor must be able to work independently and make decisions. 
  • They must have a strong sense of responsibility. 
  • Ability to take direction and apply it to job performance.
