Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
The Leo team is looking for a Senior Factory Manager for the Electronics Supply Chain (ESC) organization to support internal stakeholders in driving execution across complex electronics manufacturing environments, ensuring production stability, supply continuity, and consistent adherence to quality and operational standards. This role partners closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and manufacturing partners (both internal and external) to identify and mitigate risks, improve execution performance, and enable the Electronics Supply Chain support.
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record operating in complex electronics manufacturing environments, driving execution across internal factories and external suppliers, and improving production performance through disciplined problem-solving and operational rigor. Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while solving complex problems with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders will be critical to success.
- Measure, control, and improve capacity, quality, manufacturing performance, and delivery execution across manufacturing operations
- Lead operational and technical deep dives to resolve manufacturing constraints, improve stability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally to balance engineering, development, and production priorities while minimizing operational impact and supply chain risk
- Use data, metrics, and operational insights to assess performance, identify gaps, and drive structured corrective actions across manufacturing environments
- Influence and drive internal and external teams to ensure alignment, adherence to standards, and consistent execution against business priorities
- Communicate effectively across all levels through clear escalation management, documentation, reporting, and follow-through on actions and decisions
- Travel up to 40% of the time to the Electronics Supply Base

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
- 6+ years of related industry experience
- Experience in program, project or product management, or leading product implementation
- Experience driving continuous improvement activities, implementing six sigma methodologies and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Correction of Errors (COE).
- Demonstrated ability to build and integrate data sets and utilize them to develop metrics that drive decisions.
- Experience managing multiple programs in parallel, implementing cross-functional initiatives in fast paced environments and managing technology transfers within global supply chains
- Technical understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes and materials, capacity assessments, and quality requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field
- Direct experience managing high-complexity electronics contract manufacturers, preferably in aerospace or defense industries
- Demonstrated success in implementing advanced manufacturing processes and quality systems in regulated industries
- Deep expertise in space-grade electronics manufacturing, including familiarity with J-STD-001 Space Addendum, IPC-A-610 Space Addendum, and AS9100 requirements
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification with demonstrated application in electronics manufacturing optimization
