               External Affairs Manager

What this role is about?

Are you passionate about public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and influencing the external landscape? This is your opportunity to make a real impact.

As an External Affairs Manager, you will play a key role in advancing JTI LIGGETT's public affairs and external engagement strategy across priority jurisdictions.

Working closely with the Government Affairs Director, you will help bring advocacy initiatives to life, build and maintain strong external partnerships, and ensure our voice is clear, consistent, and influential.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Monitor and analyze state and federal legislative and regulatory developments, providing timely insights and updates to internal stakeholders
  • Support the execution of public affairs and advocacy strategies, including preparing briefing materials, talking points, and coordinating outreach activities
  • Manage relationships with trade associations, industry groups, and external stakeholders, ensuring effective engagement, alignment, and follow-up
  • Develop and maintain advocacy tools and external communications materials, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with company priorities
  • Provide operational support for external affairs initiatives, including cross-functional coordination, tracking activities, managing timelines, and assisting leadership on priority projects and emerging issues

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 3+ years of experience in government affairs, public affairs, communications, research, or a related field (public or private sector)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong understanding of Government and Public Affairs principles
  • Professional fluency in English
