Job description

Ascent Resources is seeking an External Affairs Representative. This position is located in Cambridge, OH and will report to the Sr. External Affairs Coordinator.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Landowner Relations:
  • Interact with local landowners on questions/inquiries about land use, road use, operations, traffic, etc.
  • Relationship management through database tracking and documentation
  • Work with Operations and Drilling to address landowner concerns
  • Work with landowners in specific situations as they arise
Community Relations:
  • Project coordination to assist with community relations tracking
  • Budget management assistance
  • Attend community events and meetings
  • Attend county oil and gas meetings if needed
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to senior management on charitable giving and community involvement opportunities in operating counties
Organize Ohio volunteer events, stakeholder engagement and event logistics:
  • Assist in planning and execution of Ascent fundraising events
  • Local donation presentation at events
Monitor Ascent mentions in the local media:
  • Track and report media hits in local and national press outlets
  • Document all social media mentions to better understand community perception
  • Landowner mentions on social media platforms
  • Other duties assigned as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with many different types of people and personalities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills
Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
  • Community Relations or Public Relations experience; alternatively, experience as a landman working directly with landowners in the field
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
Preferred:
  • 2-5 years' experience in communications, public relations, community affairs or field land work
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas lease terms
  • Reside in the Southeastern Ohio area where Ascent operates
