Arconic is seeking a Production Supervisor - Casting to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN.
Job Summary: The primary purpose of this role is to serve as the first level of leadership in the workplace, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to frontline employees. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, driving performance to meet customer demand, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and achieving operational goals. The role requires proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and a strong focus on eliminating waste and inefficiencies.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Safety Leadership: Champion and lead safety initiatives to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Achieving Operational Goals: Meet or exceed production targets and support people initiatives in alignment with unit objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track team performance against established goals; implement corrective actions as needed to maintain or improve results.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead the implementation of improvement plans.
  • Root Cause Problem Solving: Analyze issues to their root causes and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication within the team and across departments to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Labor Relations Management: Address and resolve labor relations and conflict issues within the team in a fair and timely manner.
  • Visual Management: Maintain and utilize visual systems to track performance and communicate key metrics within the area of responsibility.

Shift Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work either day or night shift, depending on operational needs. This department works on a 12-hr continuous shift pattern.
Qualifications
You have (required):
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production environment
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with metals
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Lafayette Operations in Lafayette, IN is located approximately 60 miles from the state's capital, Indianapolis and is the home to Purdue University. Our Lafayette location has been continuously running in Lafayette community since 1938. We are an Aluminum Extrusions plant for Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial and Defense facility.
