KUNES MITSUBISHI OF MADISON is hiring an experienced Automotive Sales Manager to lead our new and used vehicle sales team. If you have a strong work ethic, excellent customer relationship skills, and thrive as a true operator - leading a team, managing inventory, and driving the customer experience, not just structuring deals - we want to hear from you.
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing sales staff, inventory, and the customer buying experience -with real earning potential - $140,000+ Salary Plus Commissions.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the Sales Team - Recruit, train, coach, and motivate a team of sales professionals to consistently meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Set the Strategy - Establish clear, achievable sales targets and drive the team's performance toward dealership objectives.
  • Manage Inventory - Oversee new and used vehicle inventory, ensuring the showroom and lot are well-stocked, organized, and sale-ready.
  • Oversee Demo & Test-Drive Vehicles - Ensure demo vehicles are properly maintained and always available for customer test drives.
  • Review & Approve Deals - Evaluate and approve sales deals to ensure profitability and fairness for both the dealership and the customer.
  • Own the Customer Experience - Manage customer relationships from first contact through delivery, resolving concerns quickly and professionally.
  • Train Your Team - Run regular sales meetings and training sessions to keep staff up to date on products, promotions, and industry best practices.
  • Drive Marketing Efforts - Support advertising campaigns and promotions to increase showroom traffic and sales volume.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in automotive sales management required.
  • Proficiency with VIN Solutions and RouteOne is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills
  • Proven ability to multitask across the full sales operation - from floor leadership and deal structuring to inventory oversight and customer follow-up, not just deal-desking alone
  • Solid understanding of financial reports, market trends, and sales forecasting
  • Strong math skills for calculating sales projections
  • Problem-solving mindset with sound decision-making ability
  • Good work ethic and a professional, customer-first attitude
Certifications / Licenses
  • Salesperson's License required (or willingness to obtain one shortly after hire - we will assist with this)
  • Valid Driver's License required
Education
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and hands-on automotive sales experience will be considered
