Job description

Frontier Golf, a premier golf course construction and renovation firm, has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Project Superintendent.

For over 30 years Frontier Golf has been delivering projects with the highest level of service and quality, complemented by technical innovation unmatched in the industry. Across the United States from Coast to Coast, to the Caribbean and Central America, our original construction work and renovation expertise can be found at finer private clubs, resorts, and daily-fee venues.

Using your unique set of skills and experiences you will plan, direct and coordinate all operational activities involved in managing the entire construction project from project definition through implementation. This includes course earthwork, shaping, infrastructure, irrigation and drainage systems, feature development, and grassing.

We currently have project openings located in the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Southeast, and Western regions of the U.S. As Superintendent you will be accountable for delivering the project scope on time, safely, on budget, and with the highest quality of work.

What you will do:

  1. Schedule and conduct construction meetings with stakeholders with ongoing communication throughout construction.
  2. Plan and execute work procedures, interpret plans and specifications, and coordinate all phases of construction to complete the project, working closely with Architects and Owners.
  3. Model and promote good safety practices. Ensure safety is never compromised.
  4. Provide onsite, daily direction to the project team and ensure the necessary resources and support are available to reach their objectives.
  5. Approve, coordinate, and communicate changes to the project plan as they occur.
  6. Be courteous and helpful when dealing with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and employees.
  7. Resolve complaints, performance issues and employee relations concerns within the workforce.
  8. Respond to client concerns with a sense of urgency.
  9. Prepare and submit accurate, comprehensive reports/documents (i.e., utilization of labor, status of projects, estimated completion dates, issues encountered, etc.). Maintain and report accurate timekeeping for submission to payroll.

To be successful you will:

  1. Be familiar with basic surveying, layout, and field measuring. Accurately read and interpret plans, specifications and other project documents.
  2. Possess strong analytical and technical abilities.
  3. Build strong internal and external relationships, effectively manage teams and operate with high professional ethics.
  4. Exhibit strong leadership skills with a willingness to empower, trust and promote ownership within others.
  5. Be an excellent communicator (oral and written) with issue resolution skills and crisis management capability.
  6. Effectively prioritize and act proactively to meet deadlines.
  7. Have the ability to travel and stay for extended periods throughout the continental United States to oversee assigned projects.
  8. Demonstrate strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of three to five years of relevant construction management experience.
  2. A current and valid driver’s license.
  3. Must be authorized to work in U.S.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands: 

  • Perform Medium work - Exerting up to 50 to 75 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
  • See, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Climb, kneel, stand, walk crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar tasks requiring physical activity.
  • Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions including dry, wet and humid conditions with a wide range of temperatures with exposure to noise, dust, gases, fumes, mists, odors and vibrations; noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
