Assignment Length

  • Minimum commitment: 3 months
  • Option to extend

Schedule

  • Weekday Shifts: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
  • Weekday Call: 4:00 PM 7:00 AM
  • Weekend Call: 6:00 AM 7:00 AM

Clinical Volume & Responsibilities

  • Trauma Inpatients:
  • Trauma Activations: per 24-hour period
    • % blunt trauma
  • Two attendings cover the service during daytime hours

Emergency General Surgery (EGS):

  • Some calls include EGS coverage
  • EGS consults: 0 8 per call
  • Operative cases: 0 3 per call
  • Emergencies only (e.g., perforated viscus)

Support Structure

  • APP Coverage:
    • 2 APPs during the day
    • 1 APP overnight
  • Residents: PGY-3 or PGY-4
  • Interns:
    • 2 during the day
    • 1 overnight

EMR

  • Epic

Requirements

  • Fellowship trained in Surgical Critical Care
  • DEA required
  • CSR required
  • MA license preferred (will consider candidates without active MA license)
