Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of patient, non-patient corridors, lounges, offices, and other assigned floor areas. To burnish corridors, patient rooms and other floor areas on a scheduled basis. To collect and transport trash and regulated medical waste from designated collection sites to the designated area for storage and pick-up.

Essential Functionsย 

  • Prepare equipment and chemicals for daily use and report to assigned work area.
  • Clean and disinfect corridor floors, lounges, nursing stations, and other assigned areas by dust mopping and wet mopping daily.
  • Burnish corridor, patient, and other areas as per schedule.
  • Remove trash from designated collection sites and transport to designated area.
  • Remove regulated Medical Waste from designated collection site and transport to assigned area for storage and pick-up.
  • Hang cubicle curtains, draperies, and shower curtains as needed.
  • Assist in moving of furniture as requested.
  • Maintain equipment daily and report any needed repairs to supervisor.
  • Inspection of assigned area- report safety and patient concerns to immediate supervisor.
