Hiring Range

$15.00 - $19.50/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Overview
The Environmental Aide performs proper housekeeping and cleaning that meets state requirements, regulatory agency requirements, facility regulatory requirements, RHS Infection Control standards, and Environmental Services policies and procedures. Ensures a neat, clean and safe work environment is maintained. Ensures adequate supplies for cleaning and assists team members with moving equipment, cleaning and beds.
What you will do
  • Cleans all assigned areas, including but not limited to patient rooms, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, elevators and ancillary areas such as nurses' stations, laboratories, lounges, locker rooms, etc. by means not limited to sweeping, washing, mopping, dusting, disinfecting and sanitizing.
  • Uses the correct cleaners for the intended task and labels/stores chemicals safely and properly.
  • Restocks supplies and cleans carts daily in order to maintain a smooth flow of operations. Areas of responsibility are stocked with paper goods, soaps, chemicals and reusable goods as applicable. Demonstrates the ability to terminally clean and keep the assigned area clean in accordance with RHS policies.
  • Maintains a safe patient care environment by consistently complying with RHS, DNV, State and regulatory standards to ensure the safety of patients, visitors and staff. Follows guidelines for proper body mechanics, hazardous materials handling and universal precautions to prevent accidents and injuries. Maintains a safe work area.
  • Responsible for assuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals and in accordance with RHS policies and procedures. Performs all cleaning duties in a timely, safe, and thorough manner in compliance with Infection Control Standards. This includes dusting, cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal, and other services as needed. Areas are cleaned according to schedule and in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Ensures assignments completed in a timely manner ensuring quality/infection control measures are met consistently. Ensures assigned areas are cleaned and continuously monitored to maintain highest quality of order/cleanliness in accordance with departmental policies/procedures and schedules.

Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)

Experience
  • 1 year housekeeping/environmental services experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Auto External Defibrillator (AED) - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)
