Job description

Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan, you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.


As a Supervisor, Environmental Services, you will oversee the daily operations of the environmental services team, ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
Every day you will manage and mentor EVS staff, assign tasks, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with cleaning protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies.
To be successful, you will demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication, and thorough knowledge of environmental services best practices, crucial for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and supporting a healthy facility.

  • One-on-one training and development of EVS staff.
  • Supervises the necessary resources needed for the Environmental Services department under their control and makes recommendations to hiring, promoting and annual staff performance reviews.
  • Supervises a waste program that separates, packages and disposes of all waste according to all regulations
  • Performs quality improvement initiatives under direction of EVS manager/director. Conducts rounding activities to ensure environmental hygiene in all areas assigned. Prepares necessary reporting to manager(s) and document results.
  • Conducts ES Survey required reports. E.G. Standard work audits, Direct Observations, Fluorescent Marker, Clean Trace ATP.
  • Supervises the bed tracking system and ensure EVS response times are achieved. Prepare reports to document results, collaborating with the EVS manager to develop improvement activities.

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies and 3 Years in Environmental Services. , upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies and 3 Years in Environmental Services. , upon hire and
  • Experience with typical EVS equipment/machinery


Preferred

  • 1 Year in supervisory level experience in supervising staff and
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Tech, upon hire
