Job description

Client is seeking a senior-level Microsoft 365 / Teams consultant to perform a current-state assessment of their Microsoft environment. The organization recently rolled out Teams across the enterprise and is looking for guidance around security, governance, permissions, identity/access management, and overall best practices.
The client is specifically looking to identify potential security/privacy gaps, validate current configurations, and ensure the platform is being utilized effectively and securely. This engagement may evolve into training, governance recommendations, and ongoing optimization support depending on findings from the assessment.
Key Responsibilities / Scope of Work
Perform current-state assessment of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams environment
Review:
o Teams governance structure
o Security/privacy settings
o Identity & access management (IAM)
o Permissions and sharing configurations
o User provisioning/deprovisioning processes
o Collaboration/security policies
o Potential document/data exposure risks
Identify gaps, risks, and optimization opportunities
Provide recommendations and remediation guidance
Assist with best-practice alignment for Microsoft 365 environment
Work directly with IT leadership and internal technical teams
Potentially assist with:
o User/admin training
o Knowledge transfer
o Governance strategy development
o Ongoing optimization initiatives
Required Experience and Certifications
5+ years of Microsoft 365 administration/support experience
5+ years of Microsoft Teams administration and governance experience
Experience performing Microsoft 365 / Teams security or governance assessments
Strong understanding of:
o Identity & access management
o Permissions management
o Security/compliance best practices
o Collaboration governance
Experience working directly with leadership stakeholders and presenting findings/recommendations
Experience building remediation and optimization roadmaps
Healthcare industry experience required
Familiarity with HIPAA/security compliance considerations
Strong communication and documentation skills
Required Certifications
Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate
Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate
Azure Administrator Associate
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting FQHCs, hospitals, or multi-site healthcare organizations
Experience conducting Microsoft 365 user training initiatives
Experience with Microsoft Copilot or advanced Microsoft 365 collaboration tools
Experience working in hybrid cloud environments
Experience with broader Microsoft security stack (Defender, Purview, Conditional Access, etc.)
