Entry Writers often work for freight forwarding companies, customs brokers, or import/export businesses, and play a key role in facilitating the smooth movement of goods across borders. Their expertise helps prevent delays, fines, or seizures due to incorrect paperwork or procedures.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry writer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Writer, you need strong attention to detail, knowledge of customs regulations, and a background in international trade or logistics, often supported by relevant coursework or certifications like the Certified Customs Specialist (CCS). Familiarity with customs brokerage software, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) systems, and electronic filing platforms is typically required.
