Job description

Title: Technical Writer
Duration: 6 Month Contract
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46256 (Hybrid)
Hybrid Schedule: 3 days on-site with 2 days remote
Description:
  • The Technical Writer will play a pivotal role in translating the science, regulations, and requirements into concise, complete, and simplified QMS documents.
  • Proactively and independently collaborating with various teams to produce user-relevant content.
  • Create and maintain document templates to ensure consistency and readability across documents.
  • Take on a leadership role, driving the implementation of a new technical writing program focused on using AI to improve document quality and efficiency.
  • This includes defining "good writing" standards for mQMS documents and evaluating them for clarity and user-friendliness.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation of a new technical writing initiative from planning through execution.
  • Integrate AI by developing prompts, leveraging AI for repetitive tasks, and creating training strategies for AI-based tools.
  • Co-create and maintain documentation, including master documents and templates.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and team members to produce relevant content.
  • Contribute to process improvement by participating in discussions and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage project timelines, coordinate a team to develop training curricula, and provide regular updates to sponsors.
  • Define and implement "good writing" standards for documents.
Qualifications:
Education and experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a life science, engineering, or technical discipline, or in journalism/communication with a focus on life sciences, is required.
  • At least three years of demonstrated professional technical writing experience is necessary.
Skills:
  • You must have a strong background in technical writing of Quality controlled documents in the pharmaceutical/biotechnological industry.
  • Strong communication skills and English fluency are critical.
  • Experience with Google Suite (Docs, Drive, Sheets) is required.
Preferred qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate is competent in using templates, enthusiastic about technology, and able to train and coach others.
  • Experience in using AI as a collaborative partner is highly desired.
Project Leadership and Stakeholder Management:
  • The role requires strong leadership and project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • AI Integration: Experience with developing clear prompts for AI content creation and leveraging AI for tasks like outlining and proofreading is a key part of this position.
