Job Summary

Dominion Energy Virginia’s Electric Transmission (ET) department is a seeking motivated, engaged engineering interns for the System Operations Center (SOC). The SOC is responsible for supporting DE’s evolving transmission grid by balancing supply and demand on the Bulk Electric System to keep the lights on. This intern will join the Operator Training & Development team within SOC Services. In this role, you will s upport the development of system operators through initial training and continuing education programs, while maintaining training simulators used to prepare operators for real-world grid operations.

Basic understanding of Electricity and Power Systems.

Equally effective working independently or in a team environment.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Time management skills with the ability to independently plan and organize work assignments.

Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.

Education Requirements

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (preferred fields include Electrical Engineering with a concentration in power systems or Computer Engineering) from an ABET accredited Engineering program at a four year or post-graduate college or university.

Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.

  • Must have a graduation date of Spring 2028 or later.

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:

$23.00 - $34.00

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
