Job description

Overview

The Informatics Program Manager role serves as a strategic dyad partner to our physician informatics leads supporting ongoing requests, process review, management and maintenance of content, and new requests primarily related to Clinical Decision Support, EpicCare Inpatient and Emergency Department. This role is also the primary informatics contact/liaison to our inpatient and care experience operational leads, ensuring care delivery needs are met with technology solutions in conjunction with our Kaiser Permanente Information Technology partners. The professional in this role shares responsibility for setting short- and long-term mobility strategy to maintain, continually innovate, and optimize care delivery.This is a hybrid position that includes a blend of working both remotely and in office. One day per week (Thursdays) is required to be in office.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages large scale projects in area of oversight, leading a team of clinical and technical experts while including both internal and external resources.
  • Works collaboratively with the physician informatics leads to define goals, leads regular sessions to review and re-prioritize, uses cross-product dashboards and identifies necessary resources to support plans and deliverables.
  • Oversees the integration of new technologies into the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and interoperability in the ambulatory care setting as well as our omnichannel strategy and presence for our members.
  • Regularly evaluates programs and makes recommendations for enhancements, adjustments, and changes, in conjunction with physician leads.
  • Works with our physician leads and others to implement both strategic and tactical plans.
  • Collaborates with operational partners to ensure training, projects and clinician decision support efforts align with organizational initiatives.
  • Participates in regional and national public administration and Epic user groups to influence the strategic direction of ambulatory, MyChart, and mobility initiatives.
  • Continuously monitors and understands the latest advancements and ongoing developments in AI capabilities related to ambulatory care, MyChart, and mobility solutions. This includes evaluating new technologies, assessing their potential impact on clinical workflows, and integrating relevant AI innovations to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, health care administration, or related discipline or equivalent educational/professional experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in program management, project management, IT consulting, business analysis in healthcare, or a related field.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must exhibit efficiency, collaboration, candor, openness, and results orientation.
  • Ability to performance manage, coach, and develop staff.ย  Ability to lead and manage through influence and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, business planning, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong project management, facilitation, and team building skills.
  • Certification: Clinical Informaticist or 1 Epic clinical application preferred.
  • RN, LPN, LCSW, PharmD or other healthcare related licensure preferred.
