Job description

Overview
The Merchandising Manager is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to begin a long-term career with 84 Lumber. In this role, you'll gain exposure to our company culture & operations, contribute to a variety of projects, and build a strong foundation for future advancement. We strongly promote from within, and this position offers excellent potential for career growth.
As a Merchandising Manager, you may work across multiple departments, such as Merchandising, Sign Shop, Logo Shop, Travel, Fitness Center, & Nemacolin Resort. You may also be assigned to special projects that broaden your experience and skill set.
This position has an extremely high probability of promoting into any of our THQ departments, usually around the 1 year mark.
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday role (7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately
  • Physically implement layout plans for stores
  • Build constructive relationships and teams with channel partners
  • Remain up-to-date with industry's best practices
  • Meet with suppliers and store associates
  • Maintain budgets
  • Prepare informative presentations for senior managers
  • Occasionally support the operations at the Sign Shop, Logo Shop, and 84 Fitness

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not require supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
The incumbent is located in a busy office area and is faced with constant interruptions on a regular basis.
Physical Demands
This position requires frequent sitting, use of hands, talking and listening. Periodically this position walks, stands and reaches. Rarely, this position climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work depends on store hours of operations, 45+ hours per week.
Travel
Limited travel is expected for this position.

Preferred Education and Experience
BS degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
