Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Provide technical support to COMCARE staff by answering questions, providing training, and resolving first level of support on Electronic Medical Record (EMR).  

Provides Customer support.

  • Provide first level support to system users as needed.
  • Develop and update training and/or reference materials.
  • Conduct new employee and/or existing staff training on EMR, requiring travel to various locations to provide in-person instruction.

EMR support.

  • Learns the new functions and operations of new releases and assesses impacts on training.
  • Test new releases of software.
  • Create and/or modify EMR Forms.
  • Run and/or develop ad-hoc reporting as requested.

Monitor EMR System Process and Data Quality and timely execution.

  • Using existing reports and reminder systems, verify background applications and interface are functioning and data is being posted correctly; verify data entered by staff meets data quality requirements for reporting and analysis.
  • Understands and supports the patient reminder activity and staff emergency notifications application.
  • Oversees applications related to EMR and/or other IT applications.

Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience in computer systems analysis or programming or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a Business, IT, or related field or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience and education with one year of experience substituting for one year of education. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver's license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Must have access to personal passenger vehicle to complete the driving duties of the position. Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC, CCBHC, and CIC licensing standards and pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, DCF adult abuse registry, KDADS Nurse Aide and Criminal Record check, National Sex Offender Registry check, Office of Inspector General (OIG) Exclusion Database check, and motor vehicle screens..   Must complete orientations provided by Sedgwick County and COMCARE.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a Business or IT. Three years of experience in medical records systems support and management.  Training in the use of personal computer-based products supported by Sedgwick County Division of Information and Operations or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies.
