Overview of the Role

As the Category Management Analyst, you will develop and maintain the go-to-market reporting designed to support, track, and grow core and new product initiatives. You will provide the analytics and insights needed to optimize pricing, promotion, distribution, displays, and shelf placement to grow sales. The position will develop and maintain value-added category management tools, incorporating customer learning and brand insights that will guide sales to achieve volume and distribution objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Create and maintain analytical tools, reporting, and resources driven by AMPS (Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing, and Shelving) gold-standard principles.
  • Use reporting to analyze, identify distribution voids, and quantify opportunity gaps.
  • Track, monitor, and provide actionable feedback on ACV/distribution, sales trends, and shelf management.
  • Utilize syndicated and consumer research to develop fact-based analysis and presentations.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines; report regularly on status of projects; meet or exceed on-time and quality expectations; work closely with managers regarding all project aspects.
  • Establish professional and frequent lines of communication with clients, supervisors, associates, and customers and elevates issues and opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Participate in training and development programs to improve communication, organization, analytical, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Be a "team player"; is honest and forthright with all parties; works well with peers; trains and develops subordinates; adheres in all respects to the Code of Business Conduct.
Requirements:


  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent; entry-level to two or more years of CPG industry experience.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and associates.
  • Must know basic arithmetic operations to accurately calculate budgets, net sales, margins, promotional percentages, discounts, and commissions. Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts to sales velocity ratios, days of supply, pallet configurations, sales forecasting, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Possess critical thinking skills such as analysis, evaluation, and synthesis, as well as abstract thinking, creative thinking, information processing, and problem-solving. Ability to prioritize workload and set goals.
  • Have a working knowledge of Order processing systems; Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of syndicated systems and their applications in the trade marketing/ BI function (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS, etc) preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean DMV report.
