    • Local travel between the hospital and other DCMH facilities, clinics, and off-site locations as needed to provide technical support and services.

  • Work Schedule
    • Full-time days, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

      Participates in the IT department on-call rotation to provide support during evenings, weekends, holidays, or other off-hours as assigned.

      Must be available to respond to urgent technology-related issues when scheduled for on-call coverage.

      Work schedule may be adjusted as needed to meet operational and business requirements.

  • Position Summary
    • The IT Support Technician provides front-line technical support and assistance to end users throughout Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH). This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and user access requests and setup. The IT Support Technician serves as a key resource for resolving technology issues, supporting system users, and ensuring the reliable operation of technology solutions that support patient care and business operations.

      Under general supervision, the IT Support Technician performs assigned duties with a high degree of independence while adhering to established policies, procedures, and security standards. Work is reviewed through results achieved, quality of service provided, and user satisfaction.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES/POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required

      Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred

  • Experience
    • One (1) to two (2) years of information technology support experience preferred

      Healthcare IT experience preferred

      Experience supporting Windows-based environments preferred

  • Computer Skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and other standard computer applications, with the ability to learn and effectively use software systems required for assigned responsibilities.

    • Valid driver's license required
      CompTIA A+, Microsoft, Microsoft 365, or related technical certifications preferred
      Additional technology certifications are advantageous.

  • Essential Functions
      • Provides first-level technical support to end users for computer hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
      • Timely responds to service requests and support tickets, documenting actions taken and resolutions provided, within established service level agreements.
      • Processes user access requests and completes user account setup in accordance with established procedures, approval requirements, and security standards.
      • Installs, configures, deploys, and upgrades computer workstations, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, and related equipment.
      • Performs routine maintenance, system updates, and equipment replacement activities.
      • Maintains technology inventory and assists with asset tracking and equipment life cycle management.
      • Configures and maintains Windows operating systems and associated software applications.
      • Supports users of clinical and business applications utilized throughout DCMH facilities.
      • Supports organizational efforts to maintain technology security, confidentiality, and data integrity.
      • Adheres to all HIPAA, cybersecurity, information security, and organizational policies.
      • Reports potential security incidents, vulnerabilities, or compliance concerns to appropriate leadership.
      • Assists with implementation of security updates and endpoint protection measures.
      • Maintains current knowledge of healthcare technology trends, operating systems, hardware, software, and security practices.
      • Participates in continuing education and professional development activities.
      • Recommends process improvements that enhance service quality, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
