HR Specialist I - III - Hiring (Internal to HR only)

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The HR Specialist I - III performs entry-level human to complex (journey-level) human resources management work. Work involves administering or assisting in the administration of a human resources management program (recruitment and selection, compensation, and classification). Works under close to general supervision, with minimal to moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
- Enter, update, and/or retrieve information from various automated, human resources and/or payroll systems. Maintains human resources automated systems, files, and records.
- Provide advice and counsel and answers mainly routine questions from employees and managers on human resources policies and procedures.
- Prepare routine human resources correspondence and reports. Processes personnel actions and reviews completed personnel actions to ensure conformity with agency, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist in training agency staff on issues, rules, polices, and regulations related to human resources management. Assists in developing and revising human resources policies, procedures, and forms.
- May conduct job analysis and assist in preparing or revising job descriptions and job postings.
- Perform related duties as needed.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:

- PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or enrollment in a current test-preparation class
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
- HR Specialist I: One year of full-time experience in responsible positions that provided a thorough knowledge of the principles of human resources management, office management policies, procedures, and practices, and of agency functions and organizational structures. Six months of full-time in-service TWC experience classified as a Human Resources Assistant with regular status will satisfy the minimum qualifications. Completion of TWC Internship in related classification will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
- HR Specialist II: One year and six months of full-time experience in positions that provided a thorough knowledge of the principles of human resources management, office management policies, procedures, and practices, and of agency functions and organizational structure. Six months of full-time in-service TWC experience classified as a Human Resources Specialist I with regular status will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
- HR Specialist III: Two years of full-time experience in positions that provided a thorough knowledge of principles of human resources management, office management policies, procedures, and practices, and of agency functions and organizational structures. Six months of full-time in-service TWC experience classified as a Human Resources Specialist II with regular status will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
- All Levels: Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
