Job description

Description
Who We Are
White Lodging develops and operates a portfolio of award-winning premium hotels, rooftop bars, and restaurants in some of the country's most dynamic cities. We know that the hospitality business, like life, is about how you make people feel. That's where you come in. You'll help bring the virtue of hospitality to life while we create an environment that allows you to be your best self and grow.
Union Club Hotel is a landmark luxury boutique hotel located on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana - a distinctive Marriott Autograph Collection property that serves Purdue alumni, faculty, university guests, and the greater Lafayette community. As the only Marriott Autograph Collection hotel on a Big Ten university campus, the Union Club Hotel offers a one-of-a-kind hospitality environment where premium hotel operations and the academic mission of one of the country's leading engineering and hospitality universities come together every day.
We are hiring an HR Manager to support the human resources function at the Union Club Hotel - reporting to the Director of Human Resources - and to play a meaningful role in the development of the next generation of hospitality leaders. In addition to core HR responsibilities, this role actively supports Purdue University's Hotel and Tourism Management students as they rotate through hotel roles as part of the LAUNCH program - a structured experiential learning initiative that gives Purdue students hands-on exposure to hotel operations under the guidance of experienced hospitality professionals. This is a rare HR Manager opportunity that combines hotel HR support with a genuine investment in student mentorship, talent pipeline development, and the future of the hospitality industry.
If you're an HR Manager, HR Generalist, or hotel human resources professional looking for HR manager jobs in West Lafayette, Indiana or hotel HR roles at a Marriott Autograph Collection property near Purdue University, this is a uniquely compelling opportunity to grow, mentor, and make a lasting impact - both on your hotel and on the careers of future hospitality professionals.
What You'll Do
  • Support recruitment efforts at the Union Club Hotel - ensuring open positions are effectively communicated, sourced, and filled in a timely manner to support hotel operations and the LAUNCH program's student rotation schedule
  • Conduct new hire orientations, oversee onboarding processes, and maintain associate files with accurate, up-to-date documentation in compliance with White Lodging standards and applicable employment law
  • Provide HR guidance and coaching to hotel managers in partnership with the Director of Human Resources - ensuring consistent compliance with White Lodging company policies, employment laws, and HR best practices across all hotel departments
  • Support coaching, counseling, and termination processes with fairness, legal compliance, and consistency - assisting property leaders in making sound, well-documented people management decisions under the direction of the Director of Human Resources
  • Assist with benefits administration, payroll coordination, and compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEO, and other applicable federal and state employment regulations
  • Analyze turnover trends, conduct exit interviews, and support the implementation of targeted retention strategies that enhance associate satisfaction and reduce turnover at the Union Club Hotel
  • Support the LAUNCH program by serving as an HR resource and mentor for Purdue Hotel and Tourism Management students rotating through hotel roles - helping to shape their professional development, understanding of hotel HR practices, and readiness for careers in the hospitality industry
  • Help build relationships with Purdue University's Hotel and Tourism Management program to support ongoing talent pipeline development, student engagement, and the recruitment of high-potential hospitality graduates into White Lodging's portfolio

What You'll Bring
  • 4-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field - required; equivalent progressive hotel HR work experience will be considered
  • Prior HR Manager, HR Generalist, or hotel human resources experience - with a demonstrated ability to support recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and associate relations in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Strong working knowledge of HR laws and employment regulations - including ADA, FMLA, EEO, and other applicable federal and state requirements - with the ability to apply that knowledge consistently in a hotel operations environment
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills - with the ability to advise and support hotel managers on HR policies and procedures in partnership with the Director of Human Resources
  • Proficiency in HR systems, Microsoft Office, and workforce management tools - experience with Lawson, Kronos, or comparable hotel HR and scheduling platforms preferred
  • A genuine passion for mentorship, student development, and talent pipeline building - comfort engaging with Purdue Hotel and Tourism Management students as a professional mentor and HR resource within the LAUNCH program is a meaningful and valued part of this role
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or comparable HR certification preferred - not required; demonstrated hotel HR experience and strong employment law knowledge will be considered

What You Can Look Forward To
  • Unlimited employee referral bonuses
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off (PTO) with rollover
  • Complimentary wellness tools
  • Leadership development & tuition reimbursement
  • Discounts on hotel rooms, dining, and travel
  • Growth opportunities across multiple hotel properties in your market
  • Full-time associates also receive:
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance - starting day 1
    • Life and disability insurance
    • Paid parental leave
    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

White Lodging is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. All qualified applicants will be considered regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or veteran status. #IN200
