Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is looking for Pharmacy Technicians & Willow Certified Epic Analysts to join the Epic Team!
Epic Willow Analyst (Pharmacy) I* is an entry-level training opportunity designed for individuals with pharmacy experience who are interested in developing expertise and building a career in healthcare information technology. In this role, you will receive structured training and mentorship from experienced analysts to learn how to support and configure Epic's Willow Pharmacy system. This position offers hands-on experience to develop a strong understanding of pharmacy workflows, system processes, and how technology supports safe and efficient pharmacy operations. Analysts I assist with system setup, testing, and troubleshooting while gaining exposure to Epic tools, best practices, and workflows, while working toward obtaining the Epic Willow Pharmacy certification.
Promotional Opportunity: Upon successful completion of the trainee period and achievement of Epic Willow Pharmacy certification, incumbents may be eligible for automatic promotion to Epic Willow Analyst II (see Conditions of Employment below for additional details).
Epic Willow Analyst (Pharmacy) II* is the journey-level in the Epic Willow Analyst series. This role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the Epic Willow Pharmacy system to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy operations. Analysts at this level work collaboratively with pharmacy and IT teams to address system needs, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and contribute to projects that enhance workflows, overall efficiency, and patient safety. This position is ideal for individuals with a pharmacy background and Epic Willow certification who are interested in applying their technical and clinical expertise to improve pharmacy operations and advance their career with ARMC.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a physical, background investigation, and verification of employment history, certifications, and education.
Epic Certification: Incumbents are required to pass the Epic Willow Pharmacy Certification. The incumbent will have three (3) attempts or 90 days from the date of hire to become certified. The Clinical Informatics Department in collaboration with the Epic Executive Team will reserve its right to extend beyond 90 days if the core training class schedule falls outside the 90-day hiring period. The incumbent's employment will be terminated if certification is not obtained after three (3) attempts, by 90 days of hire, or within the dedicated extended time allowance.
Training & Travel: Applicants must be able to sit in a training room for up to 8 hours a day. Applicantmay need to travel to Verona, Wisconsin by airplane for training on an as needed basis. Travel expenses will be paid for by San Bernardino County.
On-Call: Incumbents may be placed "On-Call" for nights,weekends, and holidays depending on the certified module.

Minimum Requirements
EPIC WILLOW ANALYST ICandidates must meet BOTH of the following Education and Experience requirements:
EDUCATION: Completion of an Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology or a pharmacy technician training program.
EXPERIENCE:Two (2) years of pharmacy technician or professional experience working in a pharmacy setting.
EPIC WILLOW ANALYST IICandidates must meet ALL the following Certification, Education, and Experience requirements:
CERTIFICATION: Current Epic Willow Pharmacy Certification issued by Epic Systems Corporation.
EDUCATION: Completion of an Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology or a pharmacy technician training program.
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of experience on an Epic team performing system builds, configurations, or user support with Epic, which includes working within the Willow Pharmacy module.
SUBSTITUTION: The following licensure or certifications in combination with an Associate's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, Live/Natural Sciences or other relevant field, may substitute for the required education:
  • California State Board of Pharmacy Licensed Pharmacy Technician
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a pharmacy professional with completion of a Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent education, and two (2) years of Epic analyst experience focused on pharmacy workflows. Experience in an acute care setting both in pharmacy operations and Epic system support is strongly preferred.
This individual demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, collaborates effectively with clinical and technical teams, and is committed to leveraging technology to improve pharmacy operations, medication safety, and patient care outcomes.
