What is an Entry Level Enrolled Agent?

An Entry Level Enrolled Agent is a tax professional who has passed the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Special Enrollment Examination (SEE) and is licensed to represent taxpayers before the IRS. At the entry level, these agents typically handle basic tax preparation, communicate with clients, and assist with tax issues under the supervision of more experienced agents. They may work for accounting firms, tax preparation companies, or as independent practitioners. Their primary responsibility is to ensure compliance with tax laws and assist clients in resolving tax-related matters. As they gain experience, entry level enrolled agents can take on more complex cases and responsibilities.
