Job description

Title: Engineering Technician

Location: Batesville, IN

Contract: 11+ Months

Payrate: $26-29/hr. on W2

Shift: M โ€“ F


Job Description:
We are looking for a Manufacturing Test Engineering Technician to support manufacturing test systems and Functional Circuit Test (FCT) operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with experience in electronics, troubleshooting, and manufacturing environments, preferably within the medical device industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support Manufacturing Test Engineers with manufacturing test and FCT processes.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PCBA FCT fixtures and test stands.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on test fixtures and systems.
  • Maintain test PCs, instrumentation, cabling, and interfaces.
  • Diagnose and resolve test system failures impacting production.
  • Assist with hardware/software debugging of FCT systems.
  • Execute fixture verification after repairs or engineering changes.
  • Support fixture builds, modifications, and ECO implementation.
  • Maintain PM records, repair logs, and calibration documentation.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or 3+ years of relevant experience in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Functional Circuit Test (FCT) systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Medical device manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering equipment, and electronic assembly tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and FDA regulations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar automated test software.
  • Experience in PCBA manufacturing.
  • Basic programming/scripting (Python, VB, C+, or similar).
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience in ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated environments.
