Job description

Now Hiring: Engineering Assistant in Schofield
- The Engineering Assistant at Crystal Finishing Systems will support the engineering team in various seasonal projects, ensuring the efficient execution of tasks and contributing to the overall success of engineering operations. This role involves assisting with technical documentation, project coordination, and providing general support to the engineering department. This position will be a part time position, great for a student home from college in the summer.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently for structured problem-solving.
  • Undertake job responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company's Core Values.
  • Adhere to established Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all associates.
  • Maintain and set up new parts in Epicor.
  • Provide Engineering floor support to manufacturing on an as needed basis.
  • Knowledgeable of our manufacturing processes at all plant locations.
  • Provide periodic updates to the team as needed.
  • Take physical measurements of parts with a caliper, micrometer, height gage, scale and taper gauge.
  • Create quote drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, revise standard shapes drawings to SolidWorks.
  • Create fabrication drawings and fabrication check sheets.
  • Filing of die drawings history materials and paperwork.
  • Digitize records / files.
  • Learn and understand our quoting process.
  • Learn and understand the ECN/ECR process.
  • Perform Crystal Finishing Systems (CFS) dimensional verifications.
  • Data entry of CFS die information.
  • Organize Bolster drawings and files.

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

  • Preferred enrollment at an accredited school in a Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field of study.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work hands-on with multiple levels of team members within the organization.
  • Solution-oriented.
  • Strong Initiative and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated analytic approach to problem solving.
  • Proven adaptablty to difficult situations.
  • Use data to drive decision processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledgable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High self-confidence.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms.
  • Ability to take on multiple responsibilities/projects at once. Prioritization based on due dates or importance of projects or assignments.
