Position Overview


The Corporate Capital Projects Engineer is responsible for the full lifecycle execution of capital projects across all Gehl Food & Beverage manufacturing facilities. This role serves as a corporate engineering resource delivering high-impact capital investments that support operational growth, safety, compliance, and long-term site strategies. Projects typically range up to $10MM and include utilities, automation, packaging, infrastructure, and full production line/process improvements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support multiple capital projects from scope development through startup and closeout
  • Partner with site and corporate teams to define project goals, budgets, and timelines
  • Support equipment selection, procurement, vendor management, and contractor oversight
  • Manage construction, commissioning, startup, and project documentation activities
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, LACF, GMP, food safety, EHS, and local regulatory requirements
  • Resolve technical and operational challenges during project execution
  • Support site infrastructure assessments, capital planning, and long-term engineering strategies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, FSQ, EHS, Procurement, Finance, and external partners
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of capital project experience in manufacturing environments
  • Experience managing projects up to $10MM across multiple disciplines
  • Knowledge of FDA-regulated food or beverage manufacturing, GMPs, and safety standards
  • Basic AutoCAD proficiency
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project leadership skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in low-acid aseptic manufacturing environments
  • CMMS experience (Infor/Hexagon EAM preferred)
  • PE license or PMP certification
  • Knowledge of facilities, utilities, and energy systems engineering
