Nature & Purpose of Position
This position provides support to the Payroll and Human Resources departments while offering valuable on-the-job training and professional development opportunities. The incumbent will assist with a variety of payroll-related functions, including data entry, record maintenance, and administrative support. Due to the sensitive nature of employee and payroll information, this position requires a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion.
The position demands strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, effective time management, and excellent organizational skills. In addition to supporting payroll operations, the incumbent will assist the Benefits Team with student employee onboarding and orientation activities, processing employment-related documents, maintaining records, and preparing and sending communications. This role provides practical experience in payroll, benefits administration, and human resources processes while contributing to the efficient operation of the department.
Other Requirements for the Position
Must be a current SHSU student and enrolled in six or more credit hours in the Fall 2026 semester. Great opportunity for a student interested in Payroll.
