Job Description
Ares Management is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Internal Community & Employee Engagement Coordinator to work primarily in the New York City office. This individual will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating programs, events, and initiatives designed to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction within the firm. An ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to build positive, engaging relationships with both new hires and legacy Ares team members. The ideal candidate must combine strategic engagement thinking, polished communication, data fluency, and strong people skills.
Primary functions and essential responsibilities
  • In partnership with and under the supervision, facilitates and coordinates day-to-day tasks and processes for new charters for employee-led shared interest groups, events, contests, and activities through the Internal Community governance process.
    • Implement strategies and initiatives to improve employee engagement, drive culture and comradery
    • Tracks and monitors action items to increase employee engagement and build consistent employee experiences that align with Ares' culture
    • Leverages market data, conducts surveys and focus groups on gathering employee feedback, organizing events and activities that promote teambuilding and collaboration, and developing programs that recognize and reward employee contributions
  • Participate in managing the end-to-end development and implementation of an employee-focused engagement groups and activities.
  • Supports Internal Community groups by attending NY based onsite/offsite events and activities.
  • Collaborates with the DEI, HR teams and Employee Resource Groups to understand regional and local employee engagement needs to provide effective solutions for fostering employee engagement practices and ensuring these efforts are in alignment with the firm's overall goals.
  • Ensure program deadlines are met with high quality while managing multiple projects.
  • Provides input in internal communication sent by Internal Community and employee led Internal Community groups.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Strong business acumen with knowledge of the firm and key stakeholders
  • Ability to operate strategically using solid consultative, critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business results
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, time management and communication skills, including written, verbal, and active listening
Experience Required: Minimum 3 (for Associate) or 5 (for Senior Associate) years of experience in:
  • Employee engagement or human resources, or a related field
  • Facilitating team building programs and events within mid-to-large enterprises or global firms
  • Planning, execution of projects
  • Multi-tasking across competing priorities
  • Driving action to results
  • Facilitating group discussions
  • Establishing collaborative relationships with multiple departments and teams
General Requirements:
  • Effective prioritization strategies
  • Technical proficiency: programs used include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms, Zoom, Teams, Adobe, Smartsheet and AI
  • Participation in ad-hoc projects provided by Senior leadership or acquisition integrations
  • Able to work some nights and weekends periodically throughout the year
  • Strong sense of ownership
  • Passionate about creating a culture that supports Ares' employees and firmwide initiatives

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$90,000 - $100,000
