Salary: $55,000โ$60,000 annually + $4,200 annual health stipend ย

Louisiana Organization for Refugees and Immigrants (LORI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping refugees and immigrants achieve self-sufficiency by providing them access to critical services and support. At LORI, we promote diversity and inclusion, fight for humane immigration policies, and expand capacities around immigration legal services, policy advocacy, educational access, and community engagement. Position Summaryย
The Civic Engagement Manager leads LORIโs civic engagement initiatives, including voter education, advocacy campaigns, and youth leadership development. This role is responsible for building community power by increasing civic participation, organizing around key issues, and developing the next generation of leaders through the Learn to Lead youth program. ย
Key Responsibilitiesย
Civic Engagement & Voter Mobilizationย
- ย Design and implement nonpartisan voter education and outreach campaignsย
- ย Lead voter registration drives, canvassing, phone banking, and turnout effortsย
- ย Manage voter databases (e.g., VAN) and track outreach metricsย
- ย Develop culturally relevant educational materials on civic processes and rightsย
Community Organizing & Advocacy
- ย Build and mobilize community members around issues such as housing, language access, and immigrant rightsย
- ย Plan events, town halls, and advocacy campaignsย
- ย Conduct research and develop solutions to community challengesย
Youth Leadership Development
- ย Lead the Learn to Lead program for high school and college youthย
- ย Facilitate leadership training, public speaking, and advocacy skill-buildingย
- ย Coordinate experiential learning (e.g., legislative visits, service projects)ย
- ย Mentor youth in personal development and college readinessย
Training & Capacity Building
- ย Facilitate workshops for community members and parentsย
- ย Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and internsย
Partnerships & Coalition Building
- ย Represent LORI in local, state, and national coalitionsย
- ย Build relationships with community organizations, schools, and policymakersย
- ย Collaborate with internal teams on messaging and advocacyย
Data & Reporting
- ย Track and analyze engagement data to assess impactย
- ย Prepare reports for leadership and fundersย
Required Qualifications
- ย 3โ5 years of experience in civic engagement, organizing, or advocacyย
- ย Experience working with refugee, immigrant, and/or BIPOC communitiesย
- ย Proficiency with voter databases (e.g., VAN, EveryAction)ย
- ย Strong project management and communication skillsย
- ย Experience facilitating trainings and mentoring youthย
- ย Commitment to equity, inclusion, and community empowermentย
- ย Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- ย Multilingual (Spanish, French, or Arabic preferred)ย
- ย Experience with social media, webinars, or video editingย
- ย Familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar toolsย
- ย Lived experience related to refugee or immigrant communitiesย
