Job description

The Direct Marketing Production team in Apple's Marcom Platforms & Services (MP&S) is responsible for delivering qualitymarketing emails to Apple’s customers. The team uses an internally developed modular platform to build, test, localize, and ship all of the marketing emails sent to customers’ inboxes.

Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Email Developer to act as a technological leader for Apple’s direct marketing program. This role works closely with Marcom, Retail Marketing, and internal technical groups at Apple to manage thestandards and practices around email development, and to influence the direction of internal email-related tooling. This developer must be comfortable with ambiguity and shifting schedules, and be able to provide leadership with limited direction. This person must be able to balance technical and design excellence, even in areas where they may conflict. Drive adoption of the latest standards and techniques in the components that make up our DM development and localization systems

Preferred Qualifications
Independent & Strong Collaborator: Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to work independently while engaging effectively with internal teams and stakeholders
Proven track record of driving efficiency gains, streamlining team operations, and improving process effectiveness whilemaintaining or increasing platform capabilities
Strong architectural decision-making skills with experience introducing new technologies and processes within a team
Experience with web graphics manipulation, CSS/JavaScript animations, semantic HTML5, and modular CSS usingmodern layout methods
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React), NodeJS, and package managers (NPM, yarn) along withproficiency in functional and object-oriented programming principles
Knowledge of browser performance optimization, security best practices, accessibility standards, and familiarity withinternational webmail clients
Demonstrated success in team consolidation efforts while simultaneously increasing platform effectiveness and output
Track record of mentoring engineers, guiding requests to completion, and fostering positive team environments through constructive feedback
Strong presentation and negotiation skills with proven ability to build robust client and cross-functional relationships
Minimum Qualifications
HTML, CSS, & DM Development: 6-10 years of experience developing direct marketing email platforms with advanced HTML5/CSS knowledge and demonstrated ability to hand-code emails compatible with all major mail clients (Outlook,Gmail, Apple Mail, etc.)
JavaScript & API Development: Proficient in JavaScript fundamentals, ES6+ features, and API implementations with strong understanding of email client rendering differences
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
