Department: Marketing

Reports to: Director of Marketing

Hours: Full-time

Status: Exempt

Responsibilities/Duties:

The Email Marketing Specialist I works cross-collaboratively to support the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) and the marketing departmentโ€™s initiatives with the execution and tracking of marketing programs for the following areas of OMAโ€™s strategy and operations: Membership, Events, Education, Sales and Sponsorships, and overall OMA Brand.

The Email Marketing Specialist I will lead the execution of the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy and execution of multichannel membership acquisition campaigns, with a primary focus on generating, capturing, and qualifying leads through digital advertising and email marketing
  • Own automated onboarding, engagement, and retention email journeys within the marketing automation platform to convert leads into members and advance prospects through the funnel
  • Plan, execute, and optimize high-impact email marketing campaigns using marketing automation tools; monitor performance, analyze engagement metrics, and continuously improve lead conversion and funnel progression through segmentation, targeting, and compelling copy
  • Partner with internal teams and external agencies to execute lead-driven digital initiatives across web content, paid and organic search, and email, ensuring alignment with acquisition goals
  • Proactively identify, research, and test new lead sources, data providers, and list-building opportunities; deliver insights and recommendations to marketing leadership to scale pipeline growth
  • Collaborate with membership team to support local obesity networking groups, ensuring timely follow-up and fulfillment of marketing initiatives
  • Design, build, and deploy automated inbound lead-nurture journeys within the email platform to increase conversion, engagement, and lifetime value
  • Drive lead acquisition for external events by managing registration logistics and developing targeted, audience-specific marketing communications to capture and nurture event leads
  • Attend conferences, courses, and external events as assigned to support onsite lead capture, engagement, and follow-up activities; annual spring conference attendance required

Experience and Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, or design is required
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing, PR, communications, or design is required with at least 2 years in a communications-focused role. 5-7 years of experience is preferred
  • Website content management and email marketing experience required
  • Graphic design skills required, specifically with Adobe Creative Suite. Must provide digital design portfolio
  • Experience in a B2B/B2C inbound/outbound content marketing for a healthcare company or an Association/society setting preferred
  • Superior communication skills with strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines on multiple projects within a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Strong writing, editing and proofing skills

Salary Range: $58,000-65,000

The Marketing Specialist I role functions in a hybrid work environment with some in-office attendance required. Candidates must live proximal (within reasonable driving distance) to the OMA's office headquarters in Centennial, CO.
